Booking terms

These are the terms for booking an appointment with Amplify Barbershop. They are short on purpose.

Your appointment

When you book, that time is reserved for you with the barber you chose. The price shown before you confirm is the price you pay — prices can differ between barbers for the same service, and the one you are shown is the one that applies to your booking.

Service lengths are estimates of chair time. We aim to run to time and will tell you if we are running late.

Paying

You can pay online when you book, or pay at the shop. Paying online is a payment in full, handled by Stripe. Paying at the shop means the full amount is due when you come in; we take card and cash.

Changing or cancelling

You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before your appointment, using the link in your confirmation email. If you paid online, your payment is refunded automatically when you do — refunds normally reach your bank within five to ten days.

Inside 24 hours, please call us on (510) 374-8635 rather than using the link. We would much rather hear from you than have an empty chair, and we will do what we can.

To move an appointment, cancel it and book the new time. There is no separate reschedule step.

If we have to cancel

Occasionally we have to cancel — illness, or something breaking. If that happens we will contact you, and any payment you made online is refunded in full.

Missed appointments

If you do not come and have not told us, we record it as a missed appointment. We do not currently charge a fee for it, but repeated missed appointments may mean we ask for payment up front in future.

Arriving late

If you arrive late we will do as much as fits in the time that is left, because the chair is booked after you. The full price still applies.

Allergies and skin

Tell your barber before we start if you have any allergies, skin conditions, or sensitivities to products. The note box on the booking form is a good place to mention it.
